Text by Joan Fontcuberta, guest curator « The post-photographic readiness to make use of overwhelming quantities of images is reminiscent of what Umberto Eco refers to as a “catalogue aesthetic,” as opposed to a “finished form aesthetic.” Today, production and distribution are no longer successive phases in the visual communication process – rather, they are merged into one simultaneous action. This creative strategy dictates the conceptual framework of Paul Wong’s works. A massive compilation of images fuels projections and video installations, based on complex classification criteria and spatio-temporal structures, governed by the “catalogue aesthetic.” » Individual Exhibition September 10 – October 17, 2015 Multiverse In collaboration with Le Mois de la Photo à Montréal Paul Wong	In conjunction with the Montreal International Jazz Festival, Joyce Yahouda Gallery welcomes the New York-based photographer Hank O’Neal, to present The Golden Age of Jazz, a photography exhibition linked to the international world of jazz. Considered one of the major photographers in the United States by The New York Times magazine in 2003, O’Neal has also been a music producer for 40 years, and specializes in jazz. He is currently director of the Jazz Foundation of America. ‘’ I took my first photograph of a jazz/blues musician in January 1964 (Mississippi John Hurt) and my most recent in March 2015 (new MacArthur winner, Steve Coleman). In between there have been thousands of others. What makes so many of these photographs unique is that almost without exception, every photograph from the late 1960s until today were taken at events, concerts, recordings or festivals I produced. To echo the exhibition The Golden Age of Jazz by renowned New York-based photographer Hank O’Neal, presented in conjunction with the Montreal Jazz Festival, curators Lara Orsoni, Yan Romanesky, and Joyce Yahouda present Melomania, a photography exhibition which depicts an enthrallment for music. In order to create this exhibition the curators called upon Montreal-based artists Raymonde April,Claire Beaugrand - Champagne, Alain Chagnon, Roger Charbonneau, Réjean Meloche, Susan Moss, Gabor Szilasi, as well as gallerists Donald Browne and Serge Vaisman. Captured between the 1970s and the present-day, the majority of the images in Melomania depict people and their passion for music. Group exhibition June 27 – August 22, 2015 Melomania Photography Raymonde April, Claire Beaugrand-Champagne, Alain Chagnon, Roger Charbonneau, Réjean Meloche, Susan Moss, Gabor Szilasi	‘’Laurent Mulot offers us a work that was unseen before taking the form of a long term experience called “Middle of Nowhere”. “Middle of Nowhere”, a work encompassing the whole artist’s production, is a tale opening with the Ghost Contemporary Art Centers that the artist created all over the world, on each continent: Australia, China, France, Latin America, Morocco, Antarctica and soon enough in ISS (International Space Station).’’ (Abdelkader Damani) In this exhibition, Laurent Mulot presents a series of photographs of the ghost contemporary art centers as well as a sculpture entitled Now Melting Here. The work Now Melting Here was created following the last installation of the 6th art center, located in Antartica. In parallel with the development of the project – six centers on six continents – ice moulded into the letters ANTGCAC (Antarctic Ghost Contemporary Art Center) melts according to the surrounding climate, above an oval mirror, thus referring to issues of global climate change. Saturday May 16 and Saturday May 30 : Special event with presence of the artist. The public can observe the letters cast in ice melt from the work Now Melting and speak with the artist Laurent Mulot. For the exhibition Architecture Parallax : Optical Lapse Apparatus, Alexander Pilis presents an installation composed of four cameras situated in the four corners of the exhibition room, emitting in real time the space as well as the visitors onto a glass construction thus virtually recreating the exhibition space with the participating public.                                            Through his work, the artist explores the theorem of the Parallax – meaning the effect of the change in position of the observer on the observation of an object – to offer the possibility of perceiving the space, and the visitor’s interaction with it, in four different yet simultaneous ways In dialogue with the installation, the artist presents the series Blind Slippage, six humoristic prints displaying storyboards, which reflect the artist’s investigation linking language with image. Since 2009, Besnik Haxhillari and Flutura Preka (The Two Gullivers) in parallel to their performative artistic practice are conducting doctoral research on performance art at l’Université du Québec à Montréal (UQÀM). In a dynamic collaboration that they call Twin Thesis, they explore the performance from two different and complementary points of view: the before and the after of the action. Nathalie Rodach questions the relationship between Man and his fate. For the exhibition Cris et Féminités, Rodach weaves links between the spiritual, the organic, and the trivial. In the series Féminités (Femininities), through weaving, Rodach explores life’s paths and the questioning of women. « In his exhibition Causalité, the artist presents a series of sculptures and drawings related to the idea of “cause and effect.” In the artworks exhibited, the materials are highlighted, as well as their transformation due to physical phenomena. Dulude tries to “recreate” the object; once it is produced, the piece does not represent the final work, but rather, a process of construction or deconstruction. The artwork therefore becomes the vehicle of a reaction through time. » Text by the artist Individual Exhibition January 29 – March 21, 2015 Causalité Sculpture, drawing Marc Dulude	For the exhibition À la lueur de Bébé Lune, the artist presents holograms and a series of photographs created using handmade models. He reworks his images using digital processing tools in order to give his fictitious universe a realistic feel with a tinge of fantasy. « In zipertatou’s world, you can enter through the door. It’s as simple as that. Once inside, you can explore this imaginary space that can barely contain itself, freely, with indescribable pleasure. «The video is the high point of a lengthy botanical/art project, during which I was documenting the sprouting of white bean seeds in a series of stills. The film was edited from a sequence of individual images taken at regular intervals, a technique called time lapse. The result is a heartrending complete lifecycle. Son of the 4th Baron Haden-Guest, inveterate clubber at Studio 54 in the 70’s, friend of Andy Warhol, acquaintance with many contemporary artists like Damien Hirst, Anthony Haden-Guest is a well-known personality in the New York and British art scene.
