Biography - Massimo Guerrera
Massimo Guerrera is a multidisciplinary artist who lives and works in Montréal.
Guerrera won the Ozias Leduc award (2001) and Louis-Comtois award (2008); he was also a finalist for the Sobey Art award (2004).
His works have been presented in numerous solo exhibitions, most notably at The Invisible Dog Art Center, New York (2013), Fonderie Darling, Montréal (2008); Dunlop Art Gallery, Régina, Saskatchewan (2007); Verge Gallery, Vancouver (2004); Mercer Union, Toronto (2003); Musée National des Beaux-Arts du Québec, Québec (2002) et Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery, Kitchener – Waterloo (2001).
His work has also been included in numerous group exhibitions, including in the Mois de la Photo de Montréal (2011); La Triennale québécoise, Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal (2010); Biennale of Liverpool, Liverpool (2010); APC-Musée d’art contemporain, Bordeaux, France (2005); Leonard & Bina Ellen Gallery, Concordia University, Montréal (1999).
Massimo Guerrera’s artworks are part of many corporate and private collections in Canada, the United States, France, Italy, Switzerland, and Brasil. In Canada his works can be found at the Musée des Beaux-Arts du Canada, the Musée National des Beaux-Arts du Québec, the Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal, the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal, at the Banque d’œuvres d’art du Canada, at the Caisse Desjardins, at Hydro Québec and in the Loto Québec Collection and the Giverny Capital Collection.
