Shot on an iPhone through her front and back windows, Perry Bard’s work considers daily life as it unfolds in an urban environment. Out My Window, Down the Alley, Around the Corner and Up the Block documents two years of incessant construction, transitioning Bard’s New York City neighborhood from artists’ lofts to the third wealthiest zip code in the U.S. Immersed in a cacophony of hammers and drills, inside/outside, private/public dissolve into a nightmare defined as “normal.”
