At Galerie Bina Ellen Gallery: preparatory drawings from Atelier Star’s Anatomy project exhibited in Material Traces: Time and gesture in contemporary art
"Atelier STAR’S ANATOMY is a performance / installation project, which consists of the construction and manipulation of a module-star-shaped sofa made of 6 separable pieces. The star will serve as a place to live and work in a kind of an exhibition / campement / workshop. We will live, eat, sleep, draw, read, on the structure, largely in the presence of the public, or guest pass. The different emplacement of the pieces of the star serves as a pretext for different activities, thus providing an image always different. Through the preparatory drawings (presented at Bina Ellen Gallery) we try to imagine the performance and installation that will be completed and presented to the space 514, of the Belgo building. The drawings made previously, reinforce the context of upcoming project. Performance and installation become pretexts for exploration with this central point turning between drawing and performance. While making a clin d’oeil to our youth lived in communist Albania, this project reflects also a reflection on symbols and their multiple possibilities of reinterpretation and reconfiguration."
