Biography - Alain Chagnon
Alain Chagnon is a self-taught photographer, and began photographing in the early 1970s. Because of his interest in social phenomena, he has had several documentary photography exhibitions, including La Taverne (1974) and Bande à part (1987). Since then he has completed several projects in the form of travel books, from Senegal, Nicaragua and the United States. He was a grant holder from the Canada Council for the Arts and the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec. His work has been exhibited in Quebec, Canada and Europe.
